Privacy Policy

No Permission Labs, LLC ("TheCultureSource," "we," "us") operates the website theculturesource.com and the TheCultureSource iOS application (together, the "Service"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Website
- Usage data. We use Google Analytics 4 to collect standard usage information: pages viewed, referring site, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, and time on site. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
- Newsletter. If you subscribe, we collect your email address and the date you subscribed.
- Contact. If you email us, we keep the message and your reply address to respond to you.
iOS app
- Taste and activity data. To personalize recommendations, the app stores the categories, artists, venues and vibes you select or follow, events you save, and events you tap through to. This is tied to an anonymous account identifier, not your name or email, unless you choose to create an account.
- Device data. Device model, OS version, app version, and a randomly generated installation identifier used for crash reporting and to sync your preferences.
- Location. Only if you grant permission, and only to sort events by distance. We do not store location history.
- Notifications. If you enable them, a device push token so we can alert you about events on your radar.
We do not collect payment information. TheCultureSource does not sell tickets.
2. How we use information
- To operate and improve the Service and personalize recommendations
- To send the newsletter you subscribed to (unsubscribe link in every email)
- To understand aggregate usage patterns and event demand
- To respond to your messages
- To maintain security and prevent abuse
3. Affiliate links and third-party tracking
Ticket links on the Service lead to third-party sellers (for example Ticketmaster, SeatGeek, Eventbrite, Vivid Seats, StubHub). Some of these links are affiliate links: when you click one, the seller or its affiliate network (such as Impact) may set a cookie or record the referral so that we earn a commission if you purchase. This does not change the price you pay. Once you leave our Service, the seller's own privacy policy governs. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
4. Aggregated and de-identified data
We may create aggregated or de-identified data about event interest and attendance trends (for example, "how many users saved comedy events in Brooklyn this month"). This data cannot reasonably be used to identify you, and we may use or share it with venues, promoters and partners to help them understand demand.
5. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with: service providers that host or operate the Service (e.g., Squarespace, Cloudflare, Apple, our email provider) under contract; affiliate networks as described in Section 3; and authorities when required by law.
6. Data retention
Website analytics are retained per the provider's default settings. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. App preference data is kept while your installation is active; you can reset it from the app's settings or by deleting the app.
7. Your choices
- Analytics: adjust your browser's cookie settings or use the provider's opt-out.
- Newsletter: unsubscribe via the link in any email.
- App: manage location and notification permissions in iOS Settings; reset preferences in the app.
- Requests: email hello@theculturesource.com to access, correct or delete information we hold about you. California and other applicable state residents may exercise their rights under state privacy law by the same address; we do not discriminate for exercising them.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect information in transit and at rest. No method is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date will change and material changes will be noted on this page.
